What are Bio-Identical Hormones?
The term bio-identical hormone refers to hormones that are identical chemically to the hormones you produce. You have been using bio-identical hormones all your life, why should you change now?

It is really quite simple hormone replacement is the use of bio-identical hormones to correct imbalances that my have occurred. Hormone substitution is the use of a synthetic hormone to try and correct this imbalance.

Premarim® has been called a natural hormone because it comes from horse urine however it is bio-identical only to horses not human females. Medroxy-progesterone, a synthetic progestin, was developed because it is more potent, and patentable. It also is not bio-identical.

At Partners In Care, we compound customized bio-identical hormones including estriol, estradiol, estrone, progesterone, DHEA and testosterone, using the exact dose of the specific bio-identical hormones needed by each woman in the most appropriate dosage form for that individual. This customization allows the prescriber to maximize the therapeutic benefits that can be obtained through the use of bio-identical hormones, while minimizing the potential for adverse effects.
